Chalets

St Martin de Belleville is a village resort within the 3Vallees and offers a fabulous alternative to some of its more famous neighbours. Great access into the main ski areas, Chalet Ski Holidays in St Martin are ideally for family skiing and groups who love to ski and snowboard with a lower key nightlife.

Not only is St Martin the prettiest resort in the 3 valleys, but it also has access to some of its best slopes. Traditional wood and stone buildings cluster around the village’s central square and 16th century church which glows prettily every night. The village is small and it has a big enough local population to feel authentic and unspoilt with friendly bars and local shops selling regional fair, but it is still sophisticated enough to have a 3 Michelin star restaurant on its doorstep. Plus, as most people flock to the big name Three Valley resorts, St Martin remains peaceful with largely uncluttered slopes and very few lift queues for the 2 covered lifts, which is why the resort is known as the undiscovered ‘Jewel of the Three Valleys’.

Skiing St Martin de Belleville, 3 Vallees

St Martin de Belleville is one of the 3Vallees best kept secrets. A beautiful, intimate village, it provides rapid access to the main 3Vallees ski areas with the noise, or the price of its bigger brothers (Courchevel, Meribel and Val Thorens).

Part of the 3Vallees network, you have access to one, if not the largest high altitude ski regions in the world. Good for beginners with the more gentle slopes around St Martin de Belleville, and thereafter on the higher slopes above Les Manures and Val Thorens, it really comes into its own for intermediate and advanced skiers with over 140 red and black pistes to sample! And that's before you step on and into the vast off-piste back country skiing and snowboarding that is available.

Michelin Star Restaurants 3Vallees

It may be one of the smallest villages in the 3Valleys, but when it comes to restaurants it packs probably the biggest punch with the 3 Michelin Star Restaurat La Bouitte. A father and son run restaurant, La Bouitte in St Martin de Belleville has been situated in this quite, picturesque village below Les Menuires in the Belleville Valley for over 40 years. A warm welcome both in terms of its decor and staff, the owners Rene and Maxime Meilleur blend sophisticated dining with warmth and character, with dishes to match, using local ingredients. Cepes (mushrooms) picked from the mountain and Beaufort cheese that is made locally are just two examples of the ingredients used to provide a truly authentic, gastronomic mountain restaurant that few can come even close to matching.
